“Helfen, Wehren, Heilen”
Formed at the gates of Acre in 1190, the Teutonic Order merged the vows of the cloister with the discipline of the battlefield. Cloaked in white and bearing the black cross, these knights fought for the care of the sick and the defense of Christendom’s eastern frontiers. This banner bears the Order’s black cross beneath a gold cross fleury — a mark of both martial command and divine authority. The parchment-hued field is singed and smoke-darkened, its surface worn with the texture of memory and myth.
